The Society was formed on 29th May 2024 and the initial committee is
Chair - Dave Foster BEBOPSS - Chair
Dave was born in Bourne End, before moving to High Wycombe in 1989, Bourne End is still in Dave’s blood, he has been an active volunteer of Bourne End Community Centre for many years. He is a committee member of Bucks Family History Society. Dave has a large collection of postcards and local history resources.
As Chairman Dave will be keeping us all in check, booking the community centre for our meetings, he will also be sending the newsletter emails to members and supporters.
Secretary - Myra Hurley BEBOPSS - Secretary
Myra was born in Bromley and moved to Bourne End when she married Paul. Myra has also been a volunteer for Bourne End Community Centre for many years and is currently Vice Chairman. Also, a committee member of Bucks FHS Southern Branch. Myra is an avid lace maker when she is not researching local history.
As Secretary Myra will be taking all the minutes as well as looking after Advertising posters and the WhatsApp group.
Treasurer - Karen Savage (nee Townsend) BEBOPSS - Treasurer
Karen was born in Bourne End and moved to Wooburn when she married cricketer Stuart, she is a passionate local historian, writing ‘Up Narkover ‘ a book about the 80 year history of Wooburn Narkovians Cricket Club and the Wooburn Parish Summary for Buckinghamshire County Council -Heritage Portal site. She is a member of Bucks FHS & One Place Study Society and Wooburn Residents Association.
As treasurer she will looking after membership fees, hall hire etc, and will be running the BEBOPSS Face Book page and providing the refreshments at the monthly meetings.
Make Appleyard and Dave Kimber have joined the committee during the year.
